Developer pay in Argentina, per month

SysArmy posted the 2026.1 results on 6 March 2026 and linked the dataset. The post does not print medians. The first table is monthly gross pay in pesos for full-time Developer rows that are not paid in or pegged to US dollars. The second table is pay that is paid in or pegged to US dollars. The 25th and 75th percentiles are nearest-rank. Answer counts and the survey date sit next to each median.

The dataset is the CLEAN sheet at the SysArmy results post.

Semi-senior is the survey's middle level. This page does not rename it to mid in the table. PayScale's Argentina amounts for Software Engineer are not used: the average and the percentile ends on that page are not a coherent peso salary.

These are survey answers, not Arca.ph candidates. The answer counts are the size of each cut of the dataset.

One Argentine offset

Argentina is UTC−3 all year. The country does not use daylight saving time. Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza share that clock. Unlike Brazil, there is no second mainland zone to check.

A 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. day in Buenos Aires is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in New York during Eastern Standard Time, and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during Eastern Daylight Time. The same day is 4:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in Los Angeles during Pacific Standard Time, and 5:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. during Pacific Daylight Time.

Buenos Aires matches São Paulo's UTC−3, and it is two hours ahead of Bogotá. Overlap with the US East Coast is the morning and early afternoon in New York. Overlap with the US West Coast is the morning in Los Angeles.

Buenos Aires and the other cities on this page

Buenos Aires is the market this salary survey is densest in. Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza are the other cities named here. They do not get separate medians on this page, because this cut of the dataset is national.

The second table is pay that is paid in or pegged to US dollars. Expected compensation on an Arca.ph profile is whatever the candidate names. The fee uses that agreed amount. These medians are not converted with an exchange rate.

15% once vs a monthly markup

The SysArmy medians are gross pesos per month. They are not the marketplace fee, and they are not converted to dollars on this page.

On the marketplace, a hire costs a one-time 15% fee of first-year pay. Expected compensation of $3,000 a month is $36,000 of first-year pay. 15% of $36,000 is $5,400, paid once, and only if you hire someone Arca.ph introduced. There is a 3-month free replacement. A monthly markup is billed for as long as the person works. No markup rate is printed here.

Done-for-you is an option at 35% of first-year pay on hire. Pricing has the marketplace fee.

How you'll hire

Ask which currency the developer quoted. Pay that is paid in or pegged to US dollars is a different median from peso pay, and the profile's expected compensation is the number that matters for the fee.

  2. Your AI assistant searches and sorts. Grok Bot can do that through MCP. Claude and ChatGPT can search the same profiles. Arca.ph does not shortlist.
  3. You interview the developers you want to meet. An introduction is when the developer says yes.
  4. You hire. On the marketplace, the fee is a one-time 15% fee of first-year pay, with a 3-month free replacement.
  5. A contractor engagement, or an employer of record you arrange, are options. On the marketplace, Arca.ph does not employ the developer.

What the candidate tells us, and what the candidate shows us

What the candidate tells us is free to view after you sign up and sign the Arca.ph Client Agreement: a resume, expected compensation, the English level they report, the hours they can work, and screening answers.

What the candidate shows us is paid. Proctored tests cover English, cognitive skill, and coding with no AI. You pay for the tests you order. Proctored tests lists the full set.

Questions about hiring developers in Argentina

What does the SysArmy 2026.1 dataset say a developer is paid?

For full-time Developer rows that are not paid in or pegged to US dollars, the median monthly gross pay is ARS 1,650,000 for junior (133 answers, survey posted 6 March 2026), ARS 2,586,878 for semi-senior (417 answers, survey posted 6 March 2026), and ARS 3,500,000 for senior (462 answers, survey posted 6 March 2026). Rows that are paid in or pegged to US dollars are listed separately, each with its answer count and the same survey date.

Why are peso salaries separate from pay that is paid in or pegged to US dollars?

The dataset marks those rows apart. Combining them would mix two ways of getting paid. A senior median that is paid in or pegged to US dollars is ARS 5,489,000 a month, from 348 answers. A senior peso median is ARS 3,500,000 a month, from 462 answers. Both use the 6 March 2026 survey.

What time zone is Argentina on?

UTC−3 all year, with no daylight saving time. Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario, and Mendoza use that offset. The whole country uses it, which is different from Brazil.

How does Buenos Aires overlap US hours?

A 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. day in Buenos Aires is 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in New York during Eastern Standard Time and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during Eastern Daylight Time. Pacific overlap is the morning in Los Angeles.

Can I use a contractor or an employer of record?

Both can be how you engage the developer after you hire. On the marketplace, Arca.ph does not employ the developer. The choice of contractor or employer of record is yours to arrange.

What is a one-time 15% fee of first-year pay?

On the marketplace, a hire costs a one-time 15% fee of first-year pay, and only if you hire someone Arca.ph introduced. Expected compensation of $3,000 a month is $36,000 of first-year pay, so the fee is $5,400, paid once. There is no monthly markup. There is a 3-month free replacement. Done-for-you is an option at 35% of first-year pay on hire.
